5. Resolution of singularities of a toric variety (12.05.15).

Aim of the talk: Show how to projectively resolve the singularities of a normal toric variety.

Details: Explain [CLS11, §11.1], in particular Proposition 11.1.8 & Theorem 11.1.9 (Theorems 10 and 11 in I, §2) and as much of their proofs as possible. If time permits it would be nice to discuss [CLS11, Example 11.1.12] (cf. [KKMSD73, p. 38-39]).
